Congratulatory Message from Melanie Herman

Happy New Year!

I wish this new year will bring you lots of joy, love, health and peace, and power to address an uncertainty.

The Risk Management Office for Nonprofit Organizations marked its 20th anniversary in December last year. I have received some congratulatory messages. Today, I like to share the message from Melanie Herman, Executive Director of the Nonprofit Risk Management Center in the US.

Congratulations to our former colleague and intern, Mika Nakahara @nporisk, for 20 years of service promoting risk management in the NP sector in Japan!

In 2000, I was placed at the Nonprofit Risk Management Center in Washington, DC through a fellowship program by a Japanese foundation. After returning to Japan, I started the Risk Management for Nonprofit Organizations to promote the importance and necessity of comprehensive risk management for nonprofit organizations. Melanie was my boss and mentor. What I learned from her and the Center made the foundation for what I have done for the last 20 years in the nonprofit sector in Japan.

Melanie, thank you for the message! I wish you and the Center the best. I hope to see you again in the future!
