Congratulatory Message from Nancy Peterson

20 days have always passed since the New Year’s Day.
Soon in the US, the presidential inauguration ceremony will take place. I hope that the ceremony will go smoothly – without no violent incidents.

As explained in the previous post, the Risk Management Office for Nonprofit Organizations marked its 20th anniversary in December last year. I received another message from my dear friend Nancy Peterson, former Community Cats Program Manager, the Humane Society of the United States.

“Congratulations on the 20th anniversary of your office. That’s quite an accomplishment!”

I met Nancy when I was practicing my internship at the Nonprofit Risk Management Center in 2000. I took a workshop on nonprofit management hosted by a nonprofit management support organization in Washington, DC. Nancy was a participant in the workshop. During a break, we went for lunch together (we had Thai foods, if my memory serves me correctly). I had fun talking with her. Both of us turned out to be cat persons.

Since then, when I visit the US, she always welcomes me to stay together. During my stay, we always have fun. She also helped me correct my English to develop this site. I cannot thank her enough for her hospitality.

Nancy currently sits on a board for two nonprofit organizations for cats. I admire her love and passion for not only her own cat (Jenny) but for all the cats.

We just chatted on ZOOM a few days ago. It was fun and 90 minutes passes so quickly. I hope to talk to you again soon – in person!

As you can see, my experiences in the nonprofit sector are based upon all the support and friendship by so many people. I am grateful to my friends for their support and friendship.
